The war in Kosovo was the last in a series of Balkan wars. Even though it erupted in 1998, the events that led to the conflict are rooted deep in the region’s history. Since the spread of Christianity into the Balkans, the arrival of Turkic tribes, the creation of the Ottoman Empire, the 1389 battle of Kosovo Pole and until the breakup of Yugoslavia, Kosovo acted as a frontier for all of these events.
Situated in February 1998, it will now be your task to tackle the skirmishes in Kosovo and ensure international peace. But be careful, you must not fail. The lives of far too many people lay in your hands.
Greetings dear delegates!
My name is Michal Kisel and I will be the chair of HSC for this year’s ZaMUN. This will most likely be my last conference as a highschool student. Added to this fact, I always have a great time with my dear friends from the secretariat. I am certain that this conference will be unforgettable for me and I will surely try to make it the best possible for you as well. See you all in April.
Sincerely,
Mišo <3
